If you are interested in getting fit using rowing exercise equipment then you are on to something big. I am not kidding around with you! Since I have used the rower rowing machine extensively in the past and seen massive results in terms of fat loss, development of lean body mass and so on, I can honestly testify to this piece of fitness equipment.
I only started rowing in my first year of University. I was always sporty but from the age of 16, I put on quite a lot of weight and sport didn’t even make me lose weight. The reason I chose rowing as the sport to play at college was because I had developed shin splints and tender knees from years of playing ground hockey and couldn’t do weight bearing sports because of the pain.
To cut a long story short, (a very interesting story I might add!), I lost a heck of a lot of weight, but was not skinny! So many people started commenting at how good I was looking. I felt good, I had a good appetite, I was fit and I had a hot body! (Not bragging – it WAS a fact – at the time!)
You might think that it was because I was rowing but it wasn’t. Since I was a beginner, most of my time on the water was spent focusing on technique and learning how to row. We got fit and developed stamina on the concept ii rower rowing machines. Do you go to gym? Have you ever tried using the ergometer’s or seen people using them? If you have, then they are most likely concept 2 rowers, since these are the most popular commercial rowing machines.
If you have used one of these machines then it is highly likely that you will be interested in getting an elliptical rowing machine like it. Once you have sat on a concept ii rower, it’s very difficult to settle for anything else. Of course there are other models on the market that are similar to the concept 2 and are modeled almost exactly like them, so consider those options too.
If you are serious about getting into shape and want to avoid putting strain on your joints, then consider rowing exercise equipment for home use. If you have a chance, get on one of the ergo’s at the gym and get the feel of it. Also ask an instructor or look for a video on Youtube for the proper rowing technique.
